The U.S. has the Burlesque Hall of Fame. There's nothing equivalent in Canada - just rapidly vanishing personal collections. I collect what little Canadian content I can find.
After 16 years, I'm skeptical about much commercial interest. However, one Calgary dancer mentioned that some of her model released U.S. photos ended up in 1-900 phone sex ads.
The adult industry now competes with free. Googling "MILF" found 530,000 large images. Used magazines have mostly disappeared, and the store owners tell me that the customers only want DVDs. Most adult magazines stopped publishing Canada dancer pictures around 2005. WinnipegSin.com is no longer registered. SextraMag.com photographed last year's Miss Nude Canada Pageant, but became inactive before they were published.
I wish Anne-Marie Losique success with this fall's launch of the English version of her Vanessa adult channel. Not much else remains in Canada. Her Image Diffusion International company has produced a number of mostly French shows about dancers.
