Esther Shannon

I personally would like to nominate her because she was instrumental in getting the MAP Van back. She was involved in the original idea of the MAP rally, and then the idea to continue the weekly stands may have been hers, but even if it wasn't, she still helped the idea grow and I'm pretty sure she made it out to every one. She volunteered to leaflet the community, and she volunteered at the MAP celebration party too. I understand she was at the table when MAP was first created, and I am very impressed and inspired by FIRST. There are probably many blanks here that others could fill in.

She is a kind and beautiful person. Her work is ethical and reliable. She sticks to very high standards in research and is committed to benefiting sex industry workers with her work. She pays sex workers for their expertise – for instance, inviting them to speak to her university classes. She admits when she does not have the answer and is very tolerant of people’s misconceptions.
