I am devastated to report that our beloved angel Melissa Charney A.K.A Misha Moore was taken from us in the early morning hours of Dec. 20, 2009. Tragically, she leaves behind her beloved son, 9yrs old , her parents, lover and a very large family who loved her very much.  Her face, her laugh, her smile will never grace us again, but she will be in all of our hearts forever.  Christmas was a devistating time for our family this year. - Elizabeth Charney A.K.A. Sadly, this is an awful loss to our club industry.  Sheldon passed away in a tragic vehicle accident. He is remembered as a wonderful friend, dj, stripper counsellor, funny bone advisor, sweetheart, family member, and more.

“Lisa was a dedicated volunteer at the Downtown Eastside Womens' Centre and a member of the DTES Power to Women Group. She was a lovely woman, always smiling and willing to help and listen. Her tragic death has left us shocked and angry and has left a significant void in our community,” states Madeline A.  “Lisa was an incredibly kind and gentle woman,” comments Diane Letcuk, long-time DEWC member and volunteer.

Jeffrey Qi Feng Bian, known locally as Tony, was stabbed just after midnight on June 11, 2009 in a suite where he was providing a safe and secure place for escorts to receive clients.  While defending the lives of the two female workers present, Tony made the ultimate sacrifice and gave his life.  For the countless workers who he protected in the past and for the workers whose lives he has saved from these cowards on the night he died and from further harm at their hands, we thank him.  Tony, you are a hero and we will never forget you.
